Pembrey, Wales – Wet and Wild – A Weekend to forget for Lomax
Round seven of the Brutish Rallycross championship in association with Odyssey Batteries headed to Pembrey Circuit in South Wales on Sunday 25th September.
Milltek and Baxi backed Craig Lomax experienced yet another frustrating weekend in Wales. The Super1600 class was amalgamated with the SuperNational class but despite this Lomax recorded the second fastest time in Qualifying 1 nearly a full seven seconds faster than any other Super1600 driver, another good time in Qualifying 2 was to be the end of the good run as Lomax was forced to pull up on the second lap of Qualifying 3 with fuelling issues. This was to signal the end of his day and left him and his XtremeRX Team frustrated.
Despite his current run of unfortunate luck Lomax is still sitting in joint second place in the championship and as is common at this stage in the championship mathematical juggling starts to come into play. With probable dropped scores Lomax goes into the final round at Croft (a circuit that he favours) just 10 points off the top spot.
Round 8 and the finale of the 2016 championship makes its second return of the year to Croft circuit in Yorkshire on 22nd October
Craig Lomax, #24:
“Disappointment doesn’t go half way to explaining how I feel right now. All these small things keep hounding us, but that’s racing and you have to swallow it up. However, when all these niggles are ironed out we will have a car that will be competitive on a European scale. We just need to be patient”
